About this deal

Well, say what you will, I'm currently listening to my Sabay A30a hooked up to a Wiim Mini streamer and I like what I hear through my Elac Vela BS403s. My only gripe is that with one more firmware update Sabaj may be able to fix some flaws that have been extensively discussed in the thread* and make a good amp great. This would not only make me happier but would help expand the number of buyers of this little jewel. It’s ridiculous to have 20 or so EQ settings without knowing their effect on the frequency response It’s great that they have an LPF for the sub but I want to remove what I am sending to the sub from the mains. I live in a condo so I could only test the system at low and medium volume (no more than 50-55 on the digital display) so I can’t comment about the power reserve of the amplifier that however seems more than enough to create irreversible problems with my neighbors. Even after 2 or 3 hours of listening at medium-low volume I would describe the temperature of the chassis as lukewarm. I never heard any noise coming from the cooling fan (either is very quite or has never been spinning). I also never heard any hum or hissing coming from the speakers (however I did not put my ear near the tweeters) sub volume is not consistent with speaker volume. They rise and fall unevenly. At low volumes you may have way too much sub, and at high volumes it disappears. This means you have to adjust the sub volume every time you adjust the main volume. Powerful driving force, proper magnification and precise volume control make Sabaj A30a can match most of the desktop small bookshelf boxes on the market, and adjust to satisfactory timbre. For the gearheads among us (or just those technically inclined 🙂) these are the three main chips in the A30a: To be honest I was not surprised. if anything Chinese makers (not just audio) have been flooding the market with model after model with quite big overlap between those. It is also worth pointing out that the A30a is a digital amp, not class D. This means that there is no dac in a conventional sense. I don’t fully understand it, but I believe that the amplification stage takes the digital signal directly. This product is another product that is similar in design to the A20d 2022 but has a completely different concept. The A20d 2022 is intended to be combined with an analog input amplifier such as the A20a 2022. I was also considering an amplifier based on the Hypex Ncore NC252MP module. Here is Amir's review of the IOM NCore Pro (based on Hypex NC252MP): https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...d-measurements-of-iom-ncore-pro-pwr-amp.8979/ Source is still my PC --> RME Digiface USB via USB --> two Sabaj A30A via optical - this way I would have a multichannel (quadraphonic) system As @Mixed_Messages explained, the A30a uses the entire aluminum case as a heatsink. Therefore, it is very easy to feel the heat when you touch it. The test was carried out using as a source a Wiim Mini playing mainly jazz music from Tidal (44.1 khz 16 bit). I used matching volume on the two amps (mostly medium volume) with the tone controls set to zero (flat). On the Rotel RSX 1067 I tested both the “stereo” (DSP active) and “bypass” (DSP off) modes. aptX-HD ..........................................................................24bit/48 kHz_576kbps However, being a software guy, I must admit I have other concerns that were not discussed here. Of these, only the SE (single-ended) type and PSE (parallel single-ended) type are capable of high-level input through speaker output. Si l'on branche un caisson de basses actif (c'est mon cas), ce dernier crachouille (bruit blanc + toc toc) et ça ... c'est pas possible. Surtout en absence de musique, le caisson bruite la pièce. And now this model, if the A30 is anywhere near as good as my A20, it’s a safe bet for me to power my desk speakers. USB compatibility ..................................Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 11(Needs Driver) Mac OSX、Linux(Driverless)Folks needs to understand and probably be patience that Peter is obviously not an engineer ... just a marketing guy, etc. So you are not talking to someone like JohnY. who wears the designer/engineer hat (which also gives him the luxury/convenience to ignore/stay way from customer complaints of a Topping product in this forum, PA5 being the prime example). here I must rely on the built-in drivers, however from some weird reason, macOS master volume control is grayed out, and I have to use a 3rd party software called SoundSource to be able to control the volume. That is very annoying, and I hope Sabaj can fix their firmware to allow volume control under MacOS. On the other hand, it is possible that a replacement won’t come and then I’ll be sorry. What is so great about this design is it compact, powerful, and sounds great. I love that I can set it up anywhere and instantly have awesome sound. I would like to try a Powernode and an Audiolab 6000 as I see these as comparable products. The build quality is really nice too.
