Description

The series 600 has a service button which guides through its descaling process, cleaning and also helps you change all of the settings on the machine including its auto on/off time. If the water running into your house is harder than most you can use service button to tweak how often you descale and set up a water filter to ensure the best water is running through your grounds. Given its comparatively low cost and small size, the Melitta Avanza Series 600 does well. It pours an excellent espresso, and most people will be very happy with the results. Automatic milk frothing isn’t quite as good, however, and this machine would suit someone who only has the occasional drink with steamed milk.

The downside? This machine comes with a hefty price tag. But if you’re willing to invest, it will pay off in spades — it’s a professional-grade machine that will last you for years to come. We would have liked the machine to made out of stainless steel, instead every panel and button is made out of plastic. It doesn’t look like the most premium machine out there but what it loses out for in materials, one could argue it makes up for in features. One minor gripe might be the time it takes to get a coffee. From a standing start after turning the machine on, it took us over a minute to get the first espresso. Once up and running you can expect times of around 40 seconds per cup.

Adjustable coffee strength

There are a couple of minor omissions from the machine, which probably helped Melitta achieve its super-slim design. For further personalisation, the Avanza 600 actually allows you to change the grind of your coffee. If you open the panel on side there will be a small lever. Move it left and you’ll have a fine grind and all of the way to the right you’ll have a coarse grind. You can change this suit the type of bean you’re using or type of coffee you’d like.

Overall, I’ll still give the Melitta Avanza Series 600 a solid 6/10. It’s a solid option for anyone who wants a fully automatic espresso machine. Perhaps one of the nicest things about the Avanza is its interface, which is controlled by a panel featuring two knobs and four buttons across the top of the machine. If the above steps do not solve the problem, I recommend you to thoroughly clean the device. Follow the cleaning instructions in the user manual. Bean to cup coffee machines are completely personalisable, so you can create your perfect cup of coffee at the touch of a button. Our fully automatic bean to cup coffee machines can create any type of coffee you desire including, espresso, café crème, latte macchiato and cappuccino, some of our coffee machines have up to 21 recipe options, so you can choose a coffee to suit every occasion. In addition to selecting the type of coffee, you can select your preferred coffee strength, amount of water, coffee bean fineness and more. All of these personalised settings can be saved, so you can replicate your perfect cup of coffee at the touch of a button, without the need to configure the machine each time. This feature is called “My Coffee Memory” and can be easily programmed to save the preferences of up to four people. This function is Ideal for busier households with varying coffee preferences. Two Bean Chambers Whether you’re a pro barista or a coffee enthusiast on a budget, there’s a machine out there for you. Remember, a good espresso machine is like a trusted ally in the morning. Why settle for mediocre coffee when you can have a delicious, perfectly brewed cup at your fingertips? As the French say, “ Il n’y a pas de café sans plaisir ” – there’s no coffee without pleasure. Today we’re testing out the Avanza series 600 from German coffee brand Melitta. We actually included this machine in our round of machines to consider when working from home and now we’re giving it a full test run after having used it for a week. Milk Frothing Ability : If you love a latte or cappuccino ( and who doesn’t? ) your espresso machine should also have the ability to froth milk to the perfect consistency. No froth, no latte. Given its price point and size, we’re pretty excited to see how this machine fared given that its a full-on bean-to-cup experience. Traditionally these machines are much bigger and much heavier than pod or espresso machine counterparts as they do it all. Design

Straight of the box we were pleasantly surprised to see just how compact this machine is. Unlike many other bean to cup machines the Avanza comes in at a 353 x 200 x 455mm. Those dimensions combined make it a perfect size to have on any countertop without it looking overbearing. On the right hand side of the machine you’ll find a removable panel which gives you access to change your grind settings and the brewing unit which is removable. Design: Lastly, a great espresso machine should look good in your kitchen. We’re talking sleek, stylish, and sophisticated — or at the very least not offensive to the eye. Next up, the Rolls Royce of espresso machines! The Lelit Bianca V3 Dual Boiler will have you feeling like a true barista in your own home. For those coffee drinkers who like milkier drinks, you can use the inbuilt Cappucinatore. As the name suggests its mainly used for cappuccino’s as the steamed milk will be frothier than your thinner steamed milk needed for lattes or flat whites. The Cappucinatore also acts as a hot water dispenser if you’re in need for an instant Americano. No need for a kettle. This option is easy to use, with simple controls that let you customise your coffee just the way you like it. And with its built-in grinder, you can ensure that your beans are freshly ground every time, giving you the best possible flavour.
