About this deal

The other thing I felt Godblight did notably better then Plague War was a better use of dividing focus. I honestly felt some of the storylines in Plague War were a little boring, cutting away from what I wanted to see, but most storylines in Godblight were engaging in some way, and whilst they might not be dedicated exactly to the main plot of Godblight, they do a lot to set up future events in the 40k universe. Guy: This is the climactic conclusion to the whole series, the moment we have been waiting for! Guilliman faces his brother Mortarion on the garden world of Iax, which the forces of Nurgle are busily transforming into a daemon world named Pestiliax. Most of the planet has fallen, but a few enclaves hold out, and it is at one of these that Guilliman and Mortarion will finally come to blows. The first book in the Dark Imperium saga, named for the series itself, sees Roboute Guilliman striving to rescue the Imperium from the brink of disaster. With the Cicatrix Maledictum having torn the galaxy asunder, thousands of hapless worlds are beset by a tide of alien and daemonic predators looking to strike while the Imperium is vulnerable.

Opens just before the assault on Iax. Guilliman interrogates a demonhost (previously someone from a radical inquisitor's retinue) to understand mortarion's plan. It got free but Gman used the Emperor's sword to kill it. The grey knights were not happy and left his army for a time so they play no part in this battle (Seems like they do not totally trust Gman or Mortarion's true name would have been shared, plot device to prevent the fight from being too easy I suppose) The first book in the brand new Dawn of Fire series, this effectively takes place as the Indomitus Crusade begins. If you haven’t already read Dark Imperium , this is definitely the place to start with the Era Indomitus stories. There’s lots about Guilliman and masses of great new lore, but also all sorts of interesting arcs featuring the Imperial Navy, the Inquisition and the Administratum.Read my interview with Guy Haley talking about both Darkness in the Blood and Astorath: Angel of Mercy . Only the last chapter of The Helwinter Gate (Novel), takes place in the Age of the Dark Imperium. [14] Terminal Overkill I would like to complain a bit about the Deus ex Machina ending of Godblight... which means I will be SPOILING the ending, so please don't read more unless you want to have the III'rd book of Dark Imperium ruined for yourself.

The Godblight is a powerful Nurgle disease, that the Great Unclean One Ku'Gath started to create during the Plague Wars. [1] History Spoiler!I’ve included these two audio dramas here because they feature a few key characters from the Gathering Storm stories, namely Inquisitor Greyfax and Yvraine, with a little bit of Guilliman and Eldrad Ulthran in the mix too. Of all the stories I’m including, these are the closest to direct follow-ons from the Gathering Storm. Though the Warrior Brood (Novel), The Blood of Angels (Short Story), the Warrior Coven (Novel) and the Redemption Corps (Novel) were published before the Age of the Dark Imperium was created in 2017, their stories confirm they take place in that era. Mortarion stood hurriedly, raised Silence and made to bring it down, to destroy Guilliman finally, take his soul as a sacrifice to the great god Nurgle even if he could not take his worlds. Key to it all is how Guilliman feels about his ‘father’. It’s been fascinating getting into his head. In Dawn of Fire, we made the deliberate choice never to see things from Guilliman’s point of view, but much of the Dark Imperium trilogy does just that, so collectively we get to see the galaxy from all angles. Guy: Guilliman has changed since the days of the Heresy. He’s appalled by the 41st Millennium. He’s dogged by a sense of failure, he’s completely alone, and he’s lonely. Belisarius Cawl believes that the twenty primarchs were created as a harmonious system. Guilliman’s just one small piece of that. He’s much less patient than he was, very driven. He has no time for petty politics, and to him, that includes at the galactic scale. Although he knows he is storing up trouble for the future, he has to be bold and decisive, and he knows that he could fail at any moment.
