This deviation in the treble range means that vocals and spoken words can sound unnatural and tinny. Instead, I wanted to get into the subtleties: how they can soundstage, what their treble detail is like, etc. They're also decently well-built and comfortable enough for most, although they can be tight on the head for some.

Highs are very nice, but kind of soft, so you will want to take that into consideration while mixing. Regardless, I went with 80 ohm ones and these headphones are kind of a benchmark for every day use headphones for me. However, in the unlikely event something does break, every component is completely replaceable - ensuring a fast turnaround for service and repairs. They can also block out more background noise, which you may prefer if you listen to audio in a moderately noisy environment.

The wide stereo image and strong bass response makes the DT 770 PRO a reliable reference point in the studio and a trusted companion for producers and audio engineers. png Monitoring and recording in the studio ✓ Closed-back (The earcup housings are completely closed so incoming and outgoing noise is attenuated. The Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO are slightly better closed-back critical listening headphones than the Sennheiser HD 598 Cs. Known as “the studio legends”, the DT 770 Pro, along with the DT 880 Pro and DT 990 Pro, is widely known across the globe as the industry standard studio headphone. As far as headphones go, Beyerdynamic’s design language has been ultra-clear for decades now: the company wants these things to last.

We are particularly proud of the durability of our products, because all the components used are replaceable if necessary. While both headphones are comfortable and well-built, the 770 PRO are closed-back headphones with a more neutral and well-balanced bass and mid-range. Beyerdynamic advertises the 80-ohm version as a universal studio use headphone, and the 32-ohm version is aimed at more mobile applications. The straight cord is terminated with a high-quality gold-plated mini-jack and a 1/4" stereo jack adapter. I personally prefer the tamed highs on DT770, since they allow me to listen for longer, without as much ear fatigue. They have the same solid metal frame as Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO, and the ear cups are dense enough to handle drops without getting damaged. Impulse Response technology creates accurate and articulate high-end that reproduces even the highest register frequencies with no distortion or distracting 'splashing' effects that are so common with other mixing headphones. The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros go back about as far as the MDR-7506es; I’d used them in radio and recording studios, and always liked them -- but I never reviewed them.
