About this deal

By using the dedicated KORG KONTROL Editor for Mac/Windows you can customize the keyboard to your preferences, including fine adjustments to the velocity curve. For example, a Mac in the peripheral role and a Mac in the host role are both capable of sending and receiving MIDI data. Alongside Wireless Bluetooth control the Air also has a USB connection that lets you use it in a more traditional computer based setup and there's plugins from AAS and Korg to play with in your DAW of choice.

What's more, every Korg MIDI keyboard comes with our 30-day money-back guarantee and two-year warranty. I mention Uhost because its BLE is a couple generations newer than the Yamaha, and it can auto-learn groups. It was bundled software from the old LPD8 registration, but it must have been added fairly recently. Using the Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) MIDI Standard you can get hours of wireless MIDI control over your music software, the MicroKey even comes with a load of software to get you started. While I have yet to test the MD-BT01, even if I do test it, that particular adapter cannot be tested with this MIDI controller as it requires MIDI In / Out ports which this MIDI controller does not have. But there is one more thing you need to consider, namely how good / reliable are these Bluetooth adapters. There's no need to install a driver; just use your preferred music software (or install any of the applications provided with microKEY Air), connect it to your computer and start playing right away!

Add an Apple Lightning - USB camera adaptor and one USB cable and your setup is complete, allowing you to access apps such as KORG Gadget, KORG Module, and GarageBand. Choose between 25, 37, 49 or 61-key configurations to suit your specific playing style and space/travel requirements. This particular one is super cool, because all you got to do is plug it in AND it’s powered by the midi output so you DON’T have to charge it. From the ultra-compact NanoKey series to the sleek design of the MicroKey series, there is a MIDI controller to suit any application. To date, the standard way to connect a MIDI keyboard to an iPad has been to create a wired connection between the two. To help you remember which is which, the “M” in MD-BT01 stands for MIDI (as in keyboards that have MIDI In / MIDI Out ports). Our second-generation microKEY lineup retains those attributes and adds iPad and iPhone support*, plus a damper pedal jack for improved playability. Because of this and my own experience (which was very good but not perfect), I cannot recommend these Yamaha Bluetooth adapters. Korg, creators of the best-selling microKEY series and the next-gen microKEY2 series can help you break free with the new microKEY Air series of wireless MIDI controllers!

Another cool thing about these, is that they’re not as expensive as when they first came out with that 88 key full size option. I enjoy blogging a LOT so if you’ve got any tips to making these blogs better……PLEASE send those tips. PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH. Having tested the UD-BT01 with four different MIDI keyboards, I found that it worked 100% as intended with three of the keyboards and let’s say 97% as well as expected with the fourth keyboard. Mainly because of the easyscale functionality (learn more about that in the video below) and the keys.

We’ve also added a 37, 49 and 61-key model, for the player who needs a few more keys in a still-compact format. However, Firewire has its differences, which means it has both benefits and drawback when compared to USB. You can use Audio MIDI Setup to connect Bluetooth MIDI devices to your Mac and iOS devices (iOS 8 or later) or iPadOS devices (iPadOS 13 or later) that use Bluetooth LE (low energy) hardware.
