About this deal

If for no other reason that you read this book because you are curious about just learning about new things, I highly recommend.

TheBookAtWar by Andrew Pettegree is the perfect present for bibliophiles and history buffs alike – a fascinating exploration of the role of books in wartime. At about eight-thirty I turned on the bur I alarm, which covers every accessible window an all the doors. At this point you start to ask: what exactly is going on here, lies or madness, something actually weird, or a mixture. The book would have been much better off had it simply omitted the ridiculous and pointless last chapter. Conroy, a freelance journalist, argues that we should take seriously Strieber's claim that alien entities are catalysts to a higher consciousness.

TheDeorhord by Hana Videen is a fascinating collection of medieval creatures large and small, and a delightful dive into Old English. Strieber came to realise that he had been abducted by these alien life forms for most of his life, and began to record his experiences with visitors from 'elsewhere'. Communion: A True Story is a book by American ufologist and horror author Whitley Strieber that was first published in February 1987.

Now either this guy is bat shit crazy and I am actually fucking normal (which is highly unlikely according to my therapist) or there are ALIENS flying around Earth taking people and doing some creepy stuff. I always read it taking the visitors out of the equation and looking at Streibers subsequent examination of himself, and his life. In the middle of the night of December 26 -- 1 do not know the exact time -- I abruptly found myself awake. The book is based on the experiences of Whitley Strieber, who experiences "lost time" and terrifying flashbacks, which hypnosis undertaken by Budd Hopkins later links to an alleged encounter with aliens.

I dont regret the reading of the book, I regret the excitement I wasted thinking this was some great big secret conspiracy type shit and I WANTED IN. Even for non-believers, if you simply treat this as a good read, it is an incredible, powerful and sometimes uncomfortable story. With Whitley beside me for the subsequent session, I began to paint the image on a wooden prepared panel, going through the same process as for the drawing, until Whitley finally said the image was exact. More telling is the fact that most sightings and experiences have occurred at the rise of communism. I have a vivid memory of a group of spandex-clad women gathered in my mother’s aerobics class, discussing Whitley Strieber’s supposed true story of alien abduction.

The 3rd (and thankfully the last) UFO that I saw hovered above my head (slightly above the 40' oak tree that I was standing next too! A fascinating tale which will perhaps change many people's views on alien abductions, and the nature of such things.I will deal first with what I remember of December 26, 1985, and then with what was subsequently jogged into memory concerning October 4, 1985.

The verbatim accounts of hypnosis sessions are a revealing read, but can be slightly irritating when the subject repeats over and over again some silly phrase such as, in one instance "something was going on and I wanted to know what was going on! Hypnosis revealed that Whitley Strieber had been abducted by a UFO and that he had been subjected to medical testing by aliens. The raw power of the original cover which featured a painting of one of the unknown entities Strieber encountered was one of the most unsettling images I've ever seen and should be on the book! Do not miss this great classic and the powerful introduction that explores the situation as it stands today--even more provocative now, as official sources are admitting that UFOs are real unknowns and that they seem to have something to do with close encounters.

Freidman (Basil Hoffman), he describes the visitors while watching a salamander frolic in the physician's aquarium. Look, if all this had happened to Whitley and he had spent the time and money to novelize five or six books on the topic, why did he never offer to go on National television and have the a panel of independent medical experts examine his alien implant. In the beginning of the book the author seemed to act like his encounter with aliens was a new occurrence with no precedent, but later we learn he has had a string of extreme supernatural experiences throughout his life. Now, having read at least five of Streiber's science fiction and horror books, now, many years later, I have finally obtained a copy of Communion thanks to the generosity of my stepbrother's girlfriend.
