I love the quality of the sandpit but my grandson is not quite 3 years old yet and he is an average height for his age yet I feel the sand table is quite low and he is bending over it so I feel he won't get many pre-school years play out of it! This is really an excellent sand table. It is the perfect height for a toldler and looks extremely robust. It is well made and comes with a selection of sand implements. The cover is very good and is well secured between uses. Highly recommended Use four boards to build the seating area for the sandpit. One of the boards measuring 150 x 14 cm will be mitre cut on both sides. Two boards measuring 115 x 14 cm each will be cut along one side only and one board measuring 120 x 5.5 cm will be cut lengthways. Fantastic sturdy table. My 21 month old likes to sit in it to play and it doesn't bend or wobble. Whilst waiting for the sand to arrive we have been using it as a water play table. The lid is super handy with elastics to secure. I can see this table lasting a while. This high-quality premium play sand is ideal for bringing the beach to your very own home and create fun all Summer long.

Absolutely perfect. Very sturdy, right size to two little boys, great lid to protect overnight from rain and wind and cats etc. Would recommend and would buy again if I ever needed to. Again there are plenty of ways of using sand to make pictures. One idea is to draw on the ground with sand dribbled from squeezy bottles (eg empty glue or paint bottles), perhaps filling in a chalk outline. Other ideas include using sand like glitter on top of glue – you can buy shakers filled with special craft sand in different coloursor even adding normal sand to wet paint to create texture. Children love playing with sand, and it’s easy to see why. You can do so many things with it – move it around, build with it, draw in it – and it’s also very soothing to the touch. There are several benefits to playing with sand: Got this sandpit for my Grandchildren. its very robust, the lid ties are with bungee ties,so its nice and tight, took a force putting the legs on so they are very sturdy. Really pleased with it and so are the children. We hope you’ve enjoyed exploring some more ways tobe creative and play with sand. If you’re looking for more activity ideas inside or outthen why not trysome of our other articles: This Step2 Sand Table is great. We have two. One is used for sand play and one is used for water play. It's the ideal height for our 3 year old granddaughter. The lid is an absolute bonus. It fits really snugly and securely. No chance of it blowing away in windy weather, rain doesn't get into the sand and nor can the neighbouring cats! We would definitely recommend.

Collect some containers and partially fill them with sand to make shakers. Different containers will produce different sounds – try plastic eggs, glass jars, plastic bottles, small tins, sweet tubes and so on – so have fun testing and decorating a variety of shakers. For this activity, you can either use bought craft sand or make your own coloured sand with dyes. Fill small jars or bottles with layers of different coloured sand, adding each layer carefully using a spoon and funnel; put lids on so that the children can take their colourful creations home with them.

Encourage children to practice letter formation in a fun way (while at the same time developing their fine motor skills) by writing their names, or just individual letters, in a shallow tray of sand. This activity is particularly effective if you can set it up on top of a lightbox or board, either straight on it or perhaps using a transparent tray. Experiment with adding other ingredients to sand, to change its texture and properties. For example, mixing sand and slime together will provide an unusual sensory experience, while mixing sand with playdough enables children to build sandcastles that won’t fall down. You can also buy special modelling sandin a variety of colours.

Absolutely fantastic, our little girl loves it! She has the same one at the childminder so we bought this as soon as we saw it. She goes in it every day and gets sand everywhere. It's lid is easy to use attach and my husband said it was the easiest thing he has ever put together! Would highly recommend Both my small grandchildren were thrilled with the Sand Table, and my son was thrilled too at the ease of putting the table together! This is a very solid, well-made sand table. The legs fit very tightly when you make the table up and it takes a bit of force to get them on but, when on, the table is very steady. The lid for the table has a dual purpose as it has a roadway embossed in it, so it can also be used for playing with cars. smooth-edged plank: 107 x 7 x 2 cm (L x W x H), the “brake”, to stop the cover from folding in on itself. Great buy... Easily assembled.. and disassembled for storage.... Sturdy.. Good height for our 2yr old and 3yr old....Our grandkids already had so much fun... Lid is great.. Kids love racing cars on it
